Highlights of the Month for December 2024
The December meeting of the Trustees and the Managing Committee members was presided over by the Chairperson Smt. Gita Pai.
Everyone was updated that, as on date, there is no change in FCRA status and that the Charity Commissioner order for change reports for 2023 AGM has been received on 1st Jan 2025.
Admission of Patrons and Acceptance of Endowments & Donations
Application for Patronship received from N. Gajanan Vaman Prabhu was placed before the members and unanimously approved allotting him membership no. P – 1648.
Funds Inflow for December 2024
- Donations: Rs. 75,000/-
- Others (Advertisements): Rs. 40,000/-
- FSE (New): Rs. 1,00,000/-
- FSE (Addition to Existing): Rs. 2,77,000/-
Total amount received: Rs. 4,92,000/-
Major Donations
Shri. Shashikant Shanbhag donated Rs. 30 lakhs to support 1st-year Engineering Students for the next 4 years.
Ms. Soona M. Shroff donated Rs. 20 lakhs to support students pursuing 3-year & 4-year degrees starting from 2025.

Total: Rs. 29.24 lakhs
Prabhu Family Charitable Trust Scholarship
Rs. 45.60 lakhs were distributed to 83 students.
Investments of Funds
K. N. Bhat updated the members on bank account balances as on 11th Jan 2025 and mentioned FD maturities from Saraswat Bank due on 15th March 2025 and 24th May 2025.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the Chair and Smt. Sudha Prabhu for sponsoring snacks.

"The present Pandemic situation has forced the GSB Scholarship League to get into the new Era of software. As lockdown forced us to confine to the homes . we were unable to carry out the work of scholarship distribution etc.
Smt.Vijaya Kamath, Managing Director of TTH Company, League's supporter in all ways came to our rescue. She convinced the Managing Committee to switch over to the new technology. She educated us, persuaded us and also gave the COMPLETE support in developing this NEW software. This is a BIG leap forward for the League.
By adopting the NEW technology GSB Scholarship League processed applications and completed disbursement of Scholarship by November 2020, as in the previous years. But for the timely help from Smt Vijaya Kamath, this would not have been possible.
At the monthly meeting held on 6th December 20, Smt.Gita Pai, Chairperson, presented the following details of Student scholarship disbursement.
: Current financial year, 2020-2021, total 2232 students from all stream of education were awarded Free Scholarship
: Sri S.N.Pai supported 3 students , Two from NITK and one from Karwar Medical College. Dr.Sanjay Kamath supported 2 students, Kamal Kamath one student and Prof.C.J.Pai supported one student.
: Sri.Uday Shanbhag & family supported 3 students. Mr.Prabhakar Kamath supported one student.
: Special awards would be given to two students as in the past, the highest scorer in 10th standard and the other from 12th standard through Late Sri Gajanan Prabhu's endowment. *
All student beneficiaries from all categories are intimated
: Prabhu Family Charitable Trust beneficiaries are yet to be finalized.
At the Monthly Meeting held on 6th of December, applications received for Patronship for the past two months were taken on record.
Trustee, Ramesh Bhandarkar updated about some more funds available for investment and that to be invested in short term deposit.
Sri Ganesh Shanbhag, will finalize the audit part of the year and give a presentation during the next month.""
